I have done the head gasket in my EF falcon, and am wondering how much it will (should) cost to be repaired. The motor has 250K on it and runs well in other respects.

depends if your going to do it or get someone else to do it,,any where from 500 to 2000 depending on the mechanic.

also depends on what condition your head is in when its taken off. may be corroded and need welding etc, also valves could be damaged / burnt, worn guides etc . all adds up

going on the current average labour rate and price of parts, you'd be looking at between about $800 to $1800 depending on the condition of the head.

With even the newest EL being 10yrs old and on average having 200 000km.
the heads often need alot more work then just a quick skim.
