i was asking for a reason. and that reason was in the first post. i need them longer than standard to be able to put in on an engine stand. and i don't have the original bolts due to it being a wreckers engine

I think you might have missed the bit so far where no one knows...

And tickford's suggestion was the only way, even if it means you take a bolt out of your car now.

And you might also realise that each engine stand is different, so you'll need to measure the mounting points then decide how long a bolt you need. Then take your bolt down to Bunnings and buy.

It's how I've done the 4 engines I've had to mount to a stand.

So get the thread and pitch and go for a walk?.
Its not that hard to figure it out.
And if you're wrong go get different ones.
But don't go shoving them in if its tight as.

Have you got a phone?
Call ford parts or someone who deals with ford trans. And say.
I would like to know what bolt I need for a AU 4l transmission to engine.

Or

Go for a walk. Grab a couple bolts of different stats around the size you need and figure it out.
Or you could call a ford dissmantlers.

Surely Ford would be able to help you out with that info.

the top bolts are the same as e series, m12.. if you have an e series bolt you can use that as a reference, but the bottom bolts are m10.. but i dont know the pitch of the threads...

Far out man, I would have thought you could have worked this one out...

Tried some hold head bolts? I usually use old head bolts to secure engines to stands. They seem to be the same size & pitch on more than a few engines. They are also long enough to do the job usually. ;-)

Cheers
