I've busted the "T" handle on my bonnet release latch, can I replace the handle? or do I need to feed a whole new cable a**'y through?

i had EXACTLY the same prob in my ef fairmnt.. -snapped the "t-bar" piece 3 wees ago.. and was very dificult to pull the lever to pop the bonnet.. had to use 2 hands.. (yeah yeah sounds funny  ) Yes....you do have to replace the whole cable.. and "heaven forbid" if you have any other wires passing through the hole in the firewall where the cable passes through.. you will have to cut them and reconnect them.. as the plastic grommit near the end of the cable is only just smaller than the hole in the fire wall thus will not pass through if there is any other cables present.. and be prepared to loosen/take out the drivers side headlight to run the cable through... i found the job a lil easier when i had the cruise computer out and the master cylinder out as it left me much more room to work with...
