Hey guys, think I've diagnosed my shuddering (from somewhere) problem. Problem was when I came off 110 or 120km/h (without applying brakes) I'd get this loud shuddering, almost grinding noise from somewhere. So today instead of just letting it slow down, I applied the brakes and I didn't get the problem at all. So does this mean the brakes are sticking or something? That might explain why my cruise doesn't engage too.
What should I do? I don't have work till late afternoon tomorrow, should I pull off some wheels and have a look? Next course of action? Thanks in advance.

Take your car to a brake place, they will normally look over it for nothing n let u know exactly whats wrong.
Sounds like wheel bearings to me honestly.. The cruise control; have u checked ur brake lights dont stay on all the time or check they come on when u press pedal (normal oppereation)?

Hmmm, ball bearing problems are expensive problems? I'll take a cruise to moss street then (hoon heaven) and get someone to have a look. Thanky. I'll check that brake thing, but I think that's all okay.

Is it a little bit rougher than it should be at any speed...?
Could be as simple as a uni joint... |

Could be as simple as a uni joint... Nah man, it's when I'm reaching high speeds on the freeway. Might fly and weave between a few cars at 120 or so, then I lift my foot and I get this shuddering and a grinding noise.

so its happening on deceleration only, dont think it will be brakes as it should do it at all speeds. have u checked transmission, engine and rear suspension bushes? A worn or tight uni joint will become worse under deceleration as the pinion angle changes. pinion angle changes if the transmission moves or the diff moves.

I have no idea how to check any of that. Such a broad possibility of problems, not sure where I should take it now. :/

Can I do that myself? Bought a Gregory's manual today, hope to be able to do some of this s**t all by myself now.

Had a think about it, it could be MANY things mate, but as i said, id look at bearing s and then unis maybe.
Take it to someone, susp. place n see what they say, try n get them to come for a (death) ride n feel the problem.

bearings are about 25-30 dollars at repco and are easy as
