hey guys... went and got a set of brakepads from repco today and as usual i changed them myself no worries but today it seems like when i push my brake down it moves freely and the brakes failed light has come up on the dash my calipres dont actualy lock onto the rotor they just marely touch it when you slam the pedal right down any1 know what the fuk could be wrong?

I'll state the obvious question, you didnt get any air in the lines?
Also did you flush the lines at all with new fluid? |

Sounds like you popped an air bubble.
Did you leave the reservoir cap on when you pressed the calipers in? Did you bleed the brakes? Syphon the reservoir? Top up fluid? You may have pressed the piston in to quickly and given the bowl a little air bubble... dunno! Either way, get ya sister/mum/cat to sit in the car and bleed all corners of the car.

Bah that site doesn't have any info on typical aussie bleeding, when ya mum gets a sore leg and all she hears is ON/OFF and the old "IS IT DOWN?" "HOLD IT" and "HOWS THAT FEEL?" etc....
someone take over!

I use the kitchen broom to hold preasure on the pedal,
Just move your seat forward, pump the pedal up, lock the broom in place hard, Then bleed the f**k, repeat till all air is out and fresh fluid is in. |
