my socket set is sidchrome, screwdrivers are stanley - i'd prefer to spend the little extra to get quality

I like quality tools, if I am going to buy one then I'll get a quality one and have it for years ... none of this buy cheap and replace it if it breaks s**t!

for a good price kingchrome seem to be really good quality, not as good as ur Snap-on or Stahlwille but unless u got a spare 10 gorillaz then i reakon kingchrome is the go also minimax isnt bad

EDIT: and just to post something remotely close to the topic..... Yes buying good quality is a good choice but its only half way..... your better off to get a bit cheaper substitue and taking good (extra sepcial) care with them the buying expensive and just not caring about them..... the only reason i asked is that every time i work on a car i seen to crack a socket or F*#k a rachet. what brand of Torque Wrench is good?

3/8" seems to be good for most things on the falcon. Once you recover from purchasing a 3/8 set then look to 1/2".. handy for some of the bigger jobs, and then later down the track 1/4 which is handy for some interior work.. and if you work on trucks, maybe 1" drive
Also a good set of ratchet spanners are a must!! Blue Point/Snap On are top quality. Sidchrome also aren't bad either. Anything thats been around a while with a life time guarentee is worth considering.

i just bring htem home when im doing s**t to my car

most of my tools are sidchrome (purchased cuz of the lifetime warranty)
if you are looking for a somewhat cheaper alternative, have a look a "supa-tool" a cheaper kingchrome brand, but ive got a 1/2" socket set and havent been able to fault it.

Warren Brown beam style is probably the best. Provided you don't undo anything with it or abuse it, it should theoretically never need recalibrating. |

Ive worked on trucks for 10 years and I bought a Kincrome toolset when I was a first year. Ive only cracked 3 sockets in that time and only due to repeated use on rattle guns. All my tourque wrenches are Snap-on but thats as far as Id go with Snap-on. Its good quality (probably the best) but the price on some items are outrageous. Sidcrome, kincrome and
T & E are the best copromise imo.

thats the first i heard of anybody who even heard of minimax. I was talking to a mate who is an apprentice mechanic and he thought they were like a miniture set (which i also have, but thats no the point). Anyways i got that or sidchome.

I use Sidchrome. Mainly because I can get it cheap through work, although it's all Repco branded then, but still Sidchromes decent quality and has a lifetime garentee.
