Hi. I'm going to make the stop lights brighter on my EF wagon using the method shown in the Technical Documents and I wondered if anyone has made their indicators brighter. I'm fed up with other drivers tooting me when I make a turn during daylight. I was thinking of replacing the lenses with ones off an EL. Are they any brighter? Cheers

Have you replaced your globes, could be the amber coating has fallen of the globe with age. I have EF tail lights with amber globes and I have no problem. you do need to replace them wvery few years.

Hi,
Another possible problem is a coating of dust on the inside of the lens. It means removing the lens & then washing, drying & refitting. You must make sure that the inside is perfectly dry so as not to damage the silver coating (reflector area). This job does work wonders though, and is well worth the effort. Bonzer

Been a while since I read that doco, but from memory it makes the brake lights brighter as it utilises the park light as well. There isn't a second indicator bulb or anything the same colour you could use to make it appear brighter

OOPS I stuffed up! I neglected to say I've got an EF WAGON and they use clear bulbs not the amber ones!!! The amber bulbs have slightly offset pins & don't fit. I was hoping that someone might have a solution like the stoplight one which is brilliant. Back to the drawing board. Cheers

Hey, hang on. I DID say it was a wagon. Don't forget they have amber lenses not clear like the sedan. Perhaps the EL lights are the best solution
