IM LOOKING TO BUILD UP AN AU N/A MOTOR FROM THE BLOCK UP BUT THERE ARE A FEW THINGS IM NOT QUEIT SURE ABOUT SO IF YOU COULD STEER ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION THE BUILD WILL BE PUT IN TO AN EF FALCON MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT AN AU MOTOR HAS A STRONGER BOTTOM END??? AND WILL BE USING AN AU MODIFIED SUMP I AM PLANNING ON USING AN AU HEAD AS I UNDERSTAND IT HAS BETTER PERFORMANCE QUALITIES??? I PLAN ON USING AN EMS STINGER COMPUTER AS IT IS WHAT I HAVE USED ON A PREVIOUS BUILD??? ANY BETTER ALTERNATIVE ?? MAYBE SOMETHING I COULD SWITCH MAPS ON THE FLY?? I WILL ALSO BE USING 4 CYL MAGNA INJECTORS AS AN UPGRADE?? 4480 EXTRACTORS? 2.5 INCH SYSTEM?? COLD AIR INDUCTION (HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE AIR BOX OR POSSIBLY A BA-FG AIR BOX??) I ARE THERE ANY BETTER MANIFOLDS AVAILABLE THAT ARENT TO COSTLY? OBVIOUSLY WHILE DOING THE REBUILD BLOCK WILL BE BORRED TO 1.0MM OVER PISTONS ROD AND RINGS WIL BE REPLACED AND EXTENSIVE HEAD WORK WILL BE DONE TO SUIT A NEW CAM?? WITH THIS SORT OF WORK SHOULD I LOOK INTO AN DOUBLE ROW TIMING CHAIN?? WILL A VERNIER CAM GEAR BE VERY BENEFICIAL ?? I WOULD LIKE TO BREAK 240RWKW N/A IS THAT ACHEIVABLE ?? MY LAST BUILD WAS AN EF MOTOR PUTTING OUT 180RWKW ON A SAFE RUNN IN TUNE RUNNING MAXED OUT STANDARD INJECTORS I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO BE RUNNING LARGE NM NUMBER WHAT WOULD BE AN ACHEIVEABLE NUMBER THANKS FOR READING ANY SUGGESTIONS ARE WELCOME |

AND WILL BE USING AN AU MODIFIED SUMP. A) Mains are larger and the cross bolting into the Mains Caps assists in strength, Rods are weaker. Bottom end is better balanced. I AM PLANNING ON USING AN AU HEAD AS I UNDERSTAND IT HAS BETTER PERFORMANCE QUALITIES??? A) No, if it is a stock head. It all comes down to the porting and valve sizes. I would start with an 94AB head myself. I PLAN ON USING AN EMS STINGER COMPUTER AS IT IS WHAT I HAVE USED ON A PREVIOUS BUILD??? ANY BETTER ALTERNATIVE ?? MAYBE SOMETHING I COULD SWITCH MAPS ON THE FLY?? A) Why use a stinger? Use a J3 chip. I would recommend the Moates Quarterhorse which will allow all the parameters you will need with the correct software and is easy to use. I WILL ALSO BE USING 4 CYL MAGNA INJECTORS AS AN UPGRADE?? 4480 EXTRACTORS? 2.5 INCH SYSTEM?? COLD AIR INDUCTION (HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE AIR BOX OR POSSIBLY A BA-FG AIR BOX??) A) If you want or you can use any size injectors ie, BA/BF and adjust the fuel using the Quarterhorse chip. Hole in the bottom of the box, watch out for sucking up water!!!!. I ARE THERE ANY BETTER MANIFOLDS AVAILABLE THAT ARENT TO COSTLY? A) No, unless you want to go to individual throttle bodys (6). OBVIOUSLY WHILE DOING THE REBUILD BLOCK WILL BE BORRED TO 1.0MM OVER PISTONS ROD AND RINGS WIL BE REPLACED A) Use Forged BA pistons with F6 Rods. AND EXTENSIVE HEAD WORK WILL BE DONE TO SUIT A NEW CAM?? A) What cam? WITH THIS SORT OF WORK SHOULD I LOOK INTO AN DOUBLE ROW TIMING CHAIN?? A) Already double row and that is all that will fit. WILL A VERNIER CAM GEAR BE VERY BENEFICIAL ?? A) Yes. I WOULD LIKE TO BREAK 240RWKW N/A IS THAT ACHEIVABLE ?? A) Not with a SOHC and NA.Look at using E85 for a few extra Kw. MY LAST BUILD WAS AN EF MOTOR PUTTING OUT 180RWKW ON A SAFE RUNN IN TUNE RUNNING MAXED OUT STANDARD INJECTORS. A) Best I have seen was 200RwKw and that was not really that streetable. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO BE RUNNING LARGE NM NUMBER WHAT WOULD BE AN ACHEIVEABLE NUMBER. A) That would depend on your final combination and the tuner. PS. Turn off CAPS when typing, means your yelling. |
