hi all,

im about to purchase some new sensors for my AU XR6 VCT engine in to EF XR6 conversion that im doing and between BURSONS and REPCO there is a massive price difference

REPCO use FUELMISER products
BURSONS use ACA products

For crank angle, cam angle and knock sensors
BURSONS charge $236
REPCO charge $416 and thats the best they can do (i know the boss of the store realy well)

So does anyone know the quality comparasion between FUELMISER and ACA products??

thanks.

Can't comment on the quality difference between the two brands. Bursons in my experience is alot cheaper for parts in general. I have purchased from both companies and I'm always pi##ed off when I have to go to repco. Usually on a Sunday when Bursons is closed and I really need a part asap. Even with trade discount, Repco is still way overpriced.

Another +1 for Bursons, they have less overheads and are still striving to make inroads into the industry. Bursons are a privately owned and are better structured. :)

Have had more luck finding parts with Bursons over Repco and like their customer service more. They seem to be more helpful and know what they are talking about. They once gave me a wrong part but I didn't realize till I got home and pulled everything apart making the car not driveable...called them up to see if they had some in stock, lucky me they did and they delivered the part to my house for free to do the swap with an apology :D...which I thought was excellent customer service.

Yep, its unfortunate but I have nothing good to say about Repco either. We only have a few in Adelaide, and no Bursons.

Maybe a repco rep needs to get online sometime and figure out what the hell all the negative feedback is about..

But, my experience is the same, lacking in knowledge and overpriced. They are pretty much useless when it comes to customer service or sales support.

I understand they need to look u p part numbers, but I have had guys take 10 mins to do it and still come out with the wrong item.

Bursons are wayyyyyyy better.
i once ordered a pair of springs from them, but due to the part numbers and new worker, there was a mix up and confusion, and i only got one spring, which i had only payed for one. but when i only recieved one, i asked questions and they promptly ordered another one, got it express posted and gave it to me for cost price.
i was quite happy with that outcome, and have never had any other business do that.
also agree about Repco over charging.

thanks for the replys guys.

repco in the town i live in are really helpful and have great customer service and are really good at finding what i want but that could be because i know all of the employees really well.

even on the highest trade discount repco can offer they still couldn't come close to Bursons RRP so i gave Bursons a go this time and on 4 parts, crank angle, cam angle, knock sensor and a harmonic balancer including postage i saved over $200  8-)

i think BURSONS will be getting more of my business from now on.

thanks guys.
