hey guys, i was wondering what are my options to prevent this from happening again. The intake pipe is rubbing against the bonnet lining and rubbing against the manifold causing a hole in the intake pipe, i have pics below. any input would be great . cheers.

doesnt look like theres any particular bends to help the pipe clear. You need to get the pipe cut up and re-welded on different angles.

can also bash the bottom of the pipe with a mallet...

did u fit the pipe yourself?
it looks like that has been ground out to make more clearance, rubbing would be almost a shiny finish

See if removing the bonnet lining helps the situation at all. I had a similar problem with the BA intake piping rubbing on the sagging bonnet lining on my EF but nothing that drastic. Removed the lining and the problem was solved for me.

If not you may have to do what FordFairmont has suggested.

Have you just used that pipe straight from the air box to a stock EL throttle body elbow?

If so then that is your problem. There isn't enough clearence there to do it with out rubbing.

There is more room when you use a 180degree bend off the TB and the an EL/AU flex elbow to make the 90degree bend down to the air box.
