Hey.

I have been looking into cam and chip packages recently. Anyway chip torque have a package with crow cams combining a CROW 2222549 (1100-4400 RPM) cam and HP4 chiptorque chip. All parts required delivered to my door for $1080

Attached is the dyno graphs they sent me. Now IGNORE the absolute ratings becasuse I don't want this to turn into a dyno power figure debate. But does this look like a good option for my EL manual with intake and exhaust mods.

I know an aftermarket ecu on the dyno might get better results but it will cost at least 3 or 4 times as much before I will get the driveability I want out of it.

They said if I do a dyno run and record the A/F ratio's then they can re-tune for $100 a pop to try and get it better.

What are ppl's opinions on these chip's ,experiences etc. Does anyone have this package???

not too bad if you dont want to go too much further and your happy with it

i had that exact package, and it was good. Untill i upgraded stuff, now i have a stand alone programable ecu

moral of the story, good if your goin to keep it that way and spemd a little extra on the tuning ;)

How would you describe the difference from standard. More power everywhere? or were there some idle and drivability issues? Did you have to get it re-tuned and what was the difference? Did you get it dynoed and do you have a graph you can post up?
Thanks.
I don't think I will be going much further in mods than this.

You know a lot of xr6's and other stock engines pulled that+higher reading with or without cams on the syd dyno

plus thats a dyno-s**t dynamix. not exactly overwhelming results from my view sorry!

Like I said, ignore the absolute ratings, I think dyno discrepancies have been argued enough.

But relative 96-124Kw is a good 30% improvement. While it doesn't seam to have as much mid-range as an XR6 it's still got more mid than a stock car.

i never ran the cam without the chip, so wouldnt know

but all it would do is richen/lean AFR's.
basicaly you would be silly to cam a car without adjusting fuel/spark maps, waste of time

I type of got that feeling after getting it done.
Wade 1604 you could get away with but I found the gain really small.

That unichip/wade combo looks like a smaller gain overall.

How much was it?

Doesn't a unichip just modify the input sensor signals? Or does it directly control injection/spark. How much for first dyno tune?

SVO XR6 - Can you tell me how the car actually drove with the cam and chip combo?
