Just finished talking with a guy who had a unichip and cam package put into his EF Falcon(standard), it is a stage one cam and chip. Is the cam the equivalent to the XR cam or is it more lumpy?

When talking about cams its difficult to understand what people mean by stage x.
Different companies, different stages, etc.
If you went to the troubble of a unichip then you would want a monster cam also.

if you thinking about changing cams look at Wade, great bang for buck!

The guy is going to upgrade both just after christmas and said he would sell them to me for around $900. What do you think?

depends what the chip is. but a wade regrind is only $130ish (and you can get one for your car), and $40ish for the shims. So unless the ECUchip is worth over $700 I'd look elsewere.

Get more information for us...Who is this caam by? what is this chip and what is it programmed to do?

Also, he must have the same ECU number as you for the cam to work properly. ie EF can't go to EL and vice versa.

Guys, a unichip is an interceptor and as such just modifies the signals sent from various sensors. These usually retail for around 1200 installed as they require dyno time to setup initially. They are not a "chip" as such
