Can anyone suggest a cam for me to use for a bit more squirt on an inline 6 el falcon. Vehicle has only done 96000kms and engine is stock as a rock except for 2 1/2" sports system. Im after a bit more grunt but still want sensible fuel economy and reliablility without having to do serious engine mods.

feels solid from 2000 and up and still maintains a good idle for auto's...a nice upgrade if your looking for basic power increase

i would get some extractors at the same time, then as long as your cat is in good condition it can just be modified and your existing system used

First thing first, is the motor a hybrid? If so, im led to believe you'll need some sort of aftermarket chip to get it running properly

No-ones told you cause you have to run a 'piggyback' chip and get it tuned to run a cam for yours causei think its a hybrid.

Once setup, you should gain around 15-20kw

before the cam id put on extractors, you will get the most out of the cam that way.

im not sure about how au's like cam changes or not, but look into this before changing it as it may need to be reflashed...

Its not an au though guys its an el. And sorry for sounding stupid but why do you keep refering to it as a hybrid, what do you mean?

Aftermarket cams wont run properly with AU's something to do with the ECU. Must run a chip or some sort of tunable ecu, or flash tune the existing one

Later model EL's also have an AU head. For some stupid reason the aftermarket cams wont work properly with these too, even though its ecu is identical to the earlier model EL ecu's which can run the cams????

Can someone clarify?

im pretty sure EL hybrids dont need a tune... just because the rocker ratio is 1.8 instead of 2.0 shouldnt make a difference just need a cam to suit that, The computer cant tell there difference. or am i way off?
