Hey, Im almost finished putting the engine back together in my fairmont and I want to change the cam while its apart....

Im thinking either a wade 1521a

or

A crow stage 4.... 2222546

What are peoples thoughts? And I know im going to need to get tge computer chipped to run these cams so where in sydney can I get that done? And roughly how much would it cost?

Also as my car is auto, Will I need to get a stall or will the factory 1 be ok with some lower gears in the a***.... 3:9s?

Thanks heaps people, I need to know asap as I want the engine back in the car by the weekend!

Last of all has anyone got one of these cams in there car? And if so do you have any power figures or comments?

Oh yeah and before I forget, Where abouts in sydney is the best place to get a set of pacemaker extractors the comp ones for my car? And what are they worth?

Thanks heaps.... Squeak

surecam do a cam and chip deal with a very similar cam to those too.
work alot cheaper if you dont intend to take things any further

with some thing like that a higher stall torque converter and some 3.45 gears would help alot

I personally wouldnt put either in front of an auto, but if you are going to then id say be prepared to do both the diff and the stall.

those are good cams but i would say its going to be tricky with a stock ecu and an auto

The auto stalls up at 1800-2000rpm and is so high geared any cam with a narrow high powerband with a poor idle will be a total s**t to drive.

In a manual what would be fun is a pain in the arese with an auto.

I have never regretted the dev3hl which works with the auto stock ecu and gives good power. Sure i have wanted more power but the driveability was worth more to me for a daily driver.

The 1636 is also a good cam for an auto too and heaps cheaper.
