Yep you're right. March 6 is public holiday.

Pity we don't have any definite Dyno results or rwkw to refer to... Well, I got 190rwhp before some headwork, so I'd be p****d if I wasn't past 200rwhp now. Is that definate enough? Even without a chip my cam profile was awesome but you are sacrificing your idle dramatically, but this isn't too much of an issue as I've found a way around this. My vote is for the latter Sunday but I'd be available for both. So I'll be coming either way.

you went with a stage 3 though rem - if you stick with a stage 1/2 idle quality shouldn't be *that* bad, and a chip isn't that necessary

Definately willing to help out but. TEDs is beer flavoured water, pick a different beer. Nice profile dude, ...post some pics! Good to see another GLi owner. If you can change cams blindfolded, I'm sure you will very useful! I'm about a month off ordering an RPD stage 2 cam, springs & vernier ...so could definitely use your help come install-day ...are you up for it? By the way, how do you find your cam performs? Bit confusing tho', all this cam talk ...my mechanic maintains that installing a new cam into the I6 will make f**k-all difference without extensive headwork, bigger injectors etc. What do you think? I find my cam performs really well, and would definately do it again if I had the option. I'll be there to help out on the day so i'll be willing to help.

EVERYONE:
we will need some gear if this is to happen. Now, lots of people have socket sets which is good but if we are to do some springs and vernier gears then we will need: Torque Wrench (I have one but another would be useful) Dial Guage and a magnetic stand to check maximum valve lift (ie dial the cam in) Spring Compressor to do the valve springs And the some small things like: lint free cloth to clog up oil returns so we don't lose any lifters Kerosene to clean the lifters and chain tensioner (if doing vernier gear)

He asked me how my cam profile was, so I answered. But yeah, stage 1 => 2 won't be anywhere near as bad.

While they're out, why not clean them? You don;t lose anything in doing it.

dude u realize to do the valve springs with the head on the car u need a OHV spring compresser and a air compressor with the attachement to go into the sparkplug hole.. remi no need to clean the lifters if they are fine. why bother waste more time and $$ i never cleaned mine and they are still good! now if the lifters are ticking then a new set of lifter seals and a clean is on order. remember u kept calling me for help...
