A standard cam from what engine?

ea-el have 2:1 rockers, then they changed to 1.8

They are TINY numbers, not even enough for the engine to work and they dont make sense (how can you have max lift of 49 thou but have 204 degrees above 50 thou). I guess you mean .490" lift.

The specs are on the mild side. It has a little more lift and duration than the standard cams and the lobe centers are a little tighter. From memory it is similar to the saloon car control cam.

saloon car control cam? whats that?

yeah sorry my car is a 1992 EBII.. so i guess I just wanted to know if this was any better than a standard one.
Perhaps similar to a mild fast road cam grind?

anyway, its for use with a standard computer. Other mods are AU gasket/bolts, ported head, EA intake, El fans, and I'll do the filter and exhaust later.

The control cam used in the saloon race series.

Should run fine on the standard ecu, but those specs say 1.9:1 rr and eb's are 2.0:1

not enough lift on that cam. definatly not the saloon control cam they have about 540 thou lift and a tighter lsa.

what is the rocker gear off? as previously queried the 2 that ford have used are 2.0:1 and 1.8:1 to my knowledge.. could be and prolly am wrong on that one though..

But I was sure that control cam had more lift on it.
what duration did it have as well?

The saloon cam fitted to ea/eb's were 490 lift and a touch over 200 @ 50 (I have the cam card around here somewhere).

Cam lift is advertised at .0258". If that cam is coupled with the 2.0:1 RR's, then the valve lift will be .0516".

Also.. .049 == .0490 the trailing 0's after the decimal point are redundant :)

but if the EB rr is 2.0.. then the cam I gave to him must have been 2.0.

I'm guessing the 1.9 was just what was stored on the computer print out of something.. you can't change the rocker ratio of a cam.

Should be sufficient for a 0.4L engine :)

found out today that Kelford Camtech here in NZ seem to record their specs differently for some reason... at 50" lift or something
