Hey Everyone, I just had a question or two. Ive got a FG xr6 na and have done a few mods but am wanting to do more. I have a CAI, headers, 2.5 exhaust, and have dyno tuned it to 268Kws at the fly. Does anyone know what else I could do to squeeze some extra power other than a turbo or SC?
Are their any companies that do good cams for the fg 6cyl yet? |

dont think there is any cams for Fg's, but i would be upgrading that small exhaust, your putting out 190rwkw, i would have a 3inch on there.. should free up a few in the top end
then larger throttle body, and finally cams.

Sweet, so 190wrkws warrants a 3.0" exhaust huh? Will I have to change the cat converter too? I think thats a 2.5" aswell

Isn't the FG motor the same as the BF but with the addition of a plastic intake manifold? I'm quite sure cams are available.
Also aren't all the fly by wire throttle bodies 80mm? That is one big f**k off throttle body in anyone's language. 2.5" is plenty for an NA motor. Quick question, how did you get your 268kW at the fly? Did you pull the motor out and engine dyno it or did the dyno operator employ numerous fudge factors to spit out the magic number? |

Lol no it was 176 at the wheels before and was 202 afterwards. He just guessed about 270 judging by the power gain compared to the stock listings. So I say 268 to be safe haha

So throttle body, no throttle body? 2.5", no 2.5"? The dynoer (is that a word??) said a 2.5 will be suffice that but only just

195kw at the fly, Exhaust ,intake mod and tune 73kw gain. Suspect sounds like s**t.
My BF motor in my EB 4 speed auto make 163rwkw. Exhaust and tune. Although factory inlet piping. I highly doubt there is more power from an airbox mod.

well ford said if you run them on 98 they actually make 204 at the fly, but I went to the dyno-wog, this crazy dyno guy who helps people alot on this website and can make crazy power gains that no one else can. He has lik 6 world records for dynoing including getting a stock BF XR6T to 290wrkws with just a tune. Hes insane. Last week he got an FG F6 to 340wrkws with just a tune, thats lik V8 Supercar amounts haha

Sorry man. If one dyno guy is making more power then any other people "on average" He is likely cheating people's figures you can modify a dyno setting and make a stock EA look like its running 200rwkw or he is tuning these cars too dangerously aggressive, don't want to be detonating at 6000 revs.
I can tell you now 175-180rwkw is all you will see out of a BF-FG with those mods. (Manual)

(Manual) And that is close to what the standard BA turbo's were putting out at the wheels so its safe to say your making 240-250kW at the fly. The guy who suggested you change your Tb and go for a 3" exhaust off the batt is stuck in E series V8 land. |

dont replace the cams !!! the amount of money to out lay for the small gains & lack of low end driavability isnt worth the head ache..

there is guy running 13.6 with a extractors, 3" exhaust, tune, diff gears...
The throttle body is already 70mm, its already big enough! go the 3" exhaust, if an XR6T runs 3" standard (2 x 2.25") with 200rwkw, then why shouldnt an NA6 with the same power Ive heard alot of things about the dyno wog, have you heard that black eyed peas song, boom boom pow?

Dont give him your cars dont pay him any cash don't even bother calling him he will f**k you around damage your car blow up your motor ect ect. In short look him up on any car forum he has a bad reputation going back many years.
