does anyone know anything about fg cam upgrades? trying to decide wether to reconfigure my exhaust or upgrade the cams to upgrade the low down power. currently i have a straight 6 2009 g6e. its running a generic tune, extractors, high flow cat, and a twin 2.5 inch exhaust, with a left and right outlet. looking for a bit more punch down low/off the line, would i be better off getting a camshaft upgrade, or changing the exhaust to a single 2.5inch unit splitting to 2 inch over the axle? ive been told the exhaust may not have enough restriction, would a smaller pipe diameter really make that much difference?

Don't reduce the exhaust diameter at all, this will restrict the flow and won't help in anyway at all and is a backwards step. Increase in exhaust size helps the engine breath, Have you done any intake mods? Look ito the cams and a tune, Talk to someone reputable over there and see what they recommend and price. If you fit cams you will need a tune done.

PS The exhaust does not go over the axle as it is IRS.

the exhaust on the fg sedan is the same as the ba and bf, and from what i can see under the car it looks to go up and over the rear axle? already have a generic tune, and have the cold air setup from the fg v8, it has a larger snorkle, and ive removed the restrictor in the airbox. maybe i should look into some upgraded diff gears first? running the stock 2.73 at the moment...

Go diff gears mate. Are you using a 5sp or 6sp auto?

If 5sp, I'd say go as low as 3.73, and for the ZF go 3.46 (so you can still keep some of your highway economy). That and get a trutrac or kaaz LSD at the same time, you'll be an easy half second quicker down the quarter once properly tuned.

I've been looking on Ebay for a while, found this company that sells diff gears and lsd centres.
http://stores.ebay.com.au/surplusdiffandgear

He has 3.46 gears for $750 brand new, or 3.7 gears for $450 brand new.
Also has TrueTrac centres for $750, or KAAZ centres for $1250. Realistically, $1300 for a TrueTrac and gears (if you go the 3.7). Just have to get them installed after that.
