Hi all.I just installed a wade 1636 cam in my EBii and I noticed that the timing mark on the camshaft sprocket was not at 3 o clock at TDC,more like about 12minutes past {if that makes sense].Car has always been a bit sluggish and was just wondering if someone in the past has installed the original cam one tooth out? Can I advance the cam by one tooth? Or am i risking valve to piston damage. The car goes better with the wade up in the rev range but ive lost a fair bit down low.

I take it your saying the notch is at 12 past instead of 15.
Its spozed to sit around 3deg from the lip of the head so.... around 12. Unless you have a dial in gauge and a vernier gear, I wouldn't be advancing 1 tooth.

With that cam, increase your base timing to 16-18 degrees. An EL ecu will also make it go a lot better
