Can a cam cause a crapload of induction noise or is it just my car being lame again?

I changed my cam a few months back to the 1636 from wade, and ever since ive had what sounds like massive induction noise come thru the fire wall and into the cabin.

Now it could have something to do with the fact that im running 2ga power wire thru the firewall and had to take out the big grommet in the wall to do so. But this is alot of noise.

Its pretty good till it hits power at about 3000rpm and since i usually utilise the remaining 2000rpm i have left it gets a whole lot louder.

Im running standard air box with standard poo filter.

Anyone else had this problem?

Its because you've taken the grommet out.

You would be surprised how much noise comes through the firewall if there are any holes or some of the interior sound deadening is missing.

silicon works well for pluging holes, did the same thing in my brothers 180sx, it was f**k loud. silicon stopped the noise very well.
