Not sure if this thread belongs in general or technical,but here goes.... I've read some of the threads on here about pacemaker extractors ( ie : 4480 vs 4499 ),and wanted to ask a kwik question. I have a set of pacemaker extractors but don't know which ones they are.My question is: Is there a way of visually telling which is which? eg. From the six pipes,two sets of three pipes go down to two pipes then all join up into one near O2 sensor (6-2-1)... Or is it three sets of two pipes going down to two pipes then join up near the sensor (6-3-2-1),etc,etc??? Mine are like the first ones (6-2-1). Also,is the standard cat (on ef falcon auto) good enough for pacies (i've already got a 2 1/2" sports exhaust on it) ,or do really have to get a hi-flo cat?if so,how much are they?

looking at 250 for a decent hi flow cat.
i reckon its worth it yet alot of people on here dont think so. the reason behind this is the $ spent hacking up and welding the stock cat to fit is almost as much as a brand new hi flow unit anyway. |

the Extractors will have either 4499 or 4480 stamped on the flanges

Shop around for a price on a cat, Carline mufflers quoted me around 185 for Hiflow cat, cant remember the brand though. Id only upgrade your cat if your current one is rooted.

ha ha, they saw you coming then! down here they'll mod you cat for free if you buy the extractors off them, or very cheaply cash (around $50) - in other words a s**t load less than the $250.00 for a new highflow!!! With that said I'd recomend for most cars over 100,000kms to look at getting a new high flow as your stock cat is probably stuffed or not far from. |

if you go to the pacemaker website it should tell you the pipe set up i.e. 6 - 2 - 1 or 6 - 3 - 1 or whatever.

the 4499's are 6-2-1, just got off my a**, popped the bonnet and had a look
