you can anything is possible with time and money, but the gains would be f**k all imo cause that same amount of money and time can be put towards other things like ecu upgrades / tune, exhuast systems intake systems etc etc. unless you have already done that and want more power then boring it out to a 4.2 or 4.3 would prolly be the max without needing to sleve it etc.. (correct me if I am wrong boys)

stock bore is 92.25, there is a ford modular V8 piston made by Manley (has a compression hight that is right) that is 94mm, you would need to use an after market rod with a 22mm piston pin. on the stock stroke this will give 4.136L

If you had a stack load of money you could have a crank made that has small block chev big journals, this will let you use a 6 inch rods instead of a 6.060inch length the aftermarket BA rods have. this will give you the ability to use a 101mm stroke with needing a custom piston and give a capacity of 4.206L.

On the other hand, IF you have that much money, why stop there. custom crank with say a 106mm stroke (0.3mm longer then the 5.4l mod V8) with what ever rods and pistons you need to run a 94mm bore and you'll have 4.4L.

Do i think it's worth it. NOT IN THE SLIGHTEST.

perhaps every one now has an idea of why CMS have taken so long with there big capacity engines.

Extractors, exhaust, cams, CAI, underdrives and flash tune. It wont really look stock but it will be NA.

I'd get a standard one fitted and running first though.

tune with a blower kit will be easier, quicker and cheaper. possibly give better results. but yes, is possible

That combo won't be legal for your P's (BA/F motor in a XF) anyway, let alone a modified one.

Having said that, a BA/F I6 with 186/190kW will be a weapon as is in a light XF body.

Seen recently, a BF I6 with a few mods (cams, exhaust/extractors, underdrives, intake), put down more power than stock XR6T's.

yes they can be and if you want to go big power N/A then they would help.
but if i where doing it then i would go for a td cortina with a 250ci pre-cross flow with 2v heads. and with the right cam and such you will have a N/A street car that will pull 12's all day long.
or you could put a fg motor in it but that would be harder.

Yes, but this would be one of the last things he does. He asked whether it was worth it, and for a street car I don't think you could justify the losses or cost of a custom manifold.

Nope, I know of a Brock EA that made 185rwkw on a 6TB manifold, but has since gone back to a single TB. Single will be fine for big power

so why didn't he just put a plenum over the end of the trumpets?

As that all he's done by going back to a single throttle body. and further to that what size and configuration are two setups you're attempting to compare? As i'm yet to see a one of these engine with a good 6tb setup. they are all slap togethers with little thought given to the effect they are going to have.

It is definitely NOT and straight out yes or no answer.
