Just wondering can I fit an EA-ED inlet manifold to my EF instead of teh BBM? Will the ECU get upstead or anything? I relise it'll mean different fuel rail (different fuel pressure regulator?), I assume the injectors are the same but. And for the throttle body it'll be a GRA one.

You'll then have an engine pretty close to XH spec (EF/EL head, block & cam, ED inlet manifold). Only major diff XH's run dizzy & coil ignition.
All XH's run an EEC V ECU as well, I doubt there is a huge diff in spark maps with EF/EL. I can't see any major issues, but be aware you'll lose some power as the XH I6 is 148kw as opposed to the EF/EL's 157 kw. Why do you want to do this ??

the duel runners shouldn't be worth the time in the turbo set up I don't think. Also puts the throttle body up the front so should be easier for the piping. And gives a bit more bonnet room for the LPG set up...

well i was running ED manifold on EL engine so i surpose it would be the same as EF

you need to change the EF A/C mounts and use the really long bolts & spacers from EA-ED ( because the MPI one hits the a/c pump) and a use a XH belt..

I assume you also run a chip of sorts, or your fuel maps and economy would be up the creek.

This is a good point I forgot to add to my last post. I've tried inadvertantly installing an EF/EL tensioner to an XH - the belt fouled the LH side of the tensioner (due to the lower positioning of the A/C compressor) - so you may need an XH tensioner - the upper pulley is mounted higher on the XH tensioners.

Ok so parts list is:
XH belts (is it a signle serpintine or multiple belts? Either way easy to get from work). The manifold - I presume EA-ED,XH are all the same? The bolts and spacers Airconditioning mounts - XH, EA- ED all the same? |

no no chip ran fine nd had better fuel econ then the ED engine had it down to 9.8 l/hkm

timing maps will be messed up downlow using an EF/EL ECU.
you also need the XH tensioner.

Yeah but you would have still been running the ED ECU EDMONTY, wouldnt you?
I would have thought if you go to EA-ED manifold on EF-EL with the EF-EL ECU, fuel maps and timing would be different, the same way going to BBM on EA-ED is.
