not legally no!, but you can phisically fit an ea cfi manifold and run a xf carbi or run an adaptor to take a 350 holley... what car is it for??

I understand, the improved power, economy and emissions are just s**t - better go to a lot of effort to make something worse. Seriously, why would you want to do this? But there is nothing stopping you running carby's - but what about ignition? Going to retrofit a dizzy? If not then you have ECU + wiring anyway.... |

i have a 1967 xr fairmont, i have an xd motor in it currently got a quote to get it to the 365hp and its 8000 so iv decided to just go with a tickford motor with plenty of mods just dont want to have to put all the ugly efi and computer crap in it a 350 holly would look 1000 times better and my dad and brother wouldnt give me s**t

on Ps mate haha got a 302 and 351 waiting, this is the replacement untill im 22, but yeah i know efi is better but its ugly as anything, cant hide all those wires and get rid of all the plastic crap with it there

EFI would be better in every way. Power, economy etc, but information can be found here.

You are better off keeping the crossflow and working that instead of spending the time and money to fit an AU motor and then rip the gear off it that makes it do what it does so well.
To fit remove a crossflow and fit an AU motor and then to make the induction system only as good as a crossflow is that many steps backwards you will trip over your own feet.

Also you wont be getting anywhere near 365HP running a 350 Holley.

i said i got a quote to get 365hp out of my xd 250 crossflow it was 8000? anyways any other motors i could consider? im running out of ideas here, i have a year and a half off before uni so i have plenty of time to spend stuffing around

What makes you think you are going to get the magical numbers you are chasing so easy out of an AU motor and so much cheaper then the crossflow?
You simply are not going to do it. Go across to the xfalcon forum and see what guys there are pulling out of their crossflows. Work with what you have and research it more. The idea you ahve come up with is just backwards. If you wanted to run an AU motor and all the EFI I would think it was a great idea and be in full support. But to mod an AU motor to fit an XR wont be easy or cheap and you are just making it a null and void exercise by throwing the injection away and fitting a piss and dribble carby.

i cant afford those numbers thats why im after somthing different, and i havent found a crossflow with over 300hp that was under 5k yet, even talked to prostroke engines and another group that do crossflows for there speedway cars, if i did say bugger it and went the efi there would have to be somthing better then an au tickford engine?
