for some reason the ef fairmonts always in third, i think its in limp mode. the car will not gear up or down no matter what. Heres the thing right before the car jumps into limp mode it gears up real hard exactly like the shift kit is on but its not. if i switch the car off and then restart it everything is good but is starting to do it more and more often.
any suggestioins on what it might be and how to fix it????

id be betting its either your s5 solenoid or your tranny fluid is really burnt and in need of replacing, or both

Limp home mode without a doubt.

This happened to a mate of mine, for him it was dirty battery terminals.

S5 gives a harsh change from 1st-2nd.

park neutral switch..

rather then changing random parts trying to fix it, take it somewhere and get it code tested and see whats causing it...
far safer bet
