ok so heres the dilema. here i have a nice set of 2nd hand genie extractos, i want to fit them to my car. i call up cgu and ask them if im insured...wait 10 mins, and short answer .... NO so now im stuck. i have a lukey exhaust coming soon and i need a new insurance company. Anyone got any favs that will let a 20 yr old drive a modded car without sending the bill thru the roof?

do a search, covered so many times!
i'm 19 and insured with all my mods ($330.00 full comp - which is $200 cheaper than i was paying before mods lol)should be able to find my posts on how i managed that.
but to make life simple, go through an insurance brocker - Greater National Insurance Group was who I went with, forgot the website now but there pretty good they get the job done! someone on ehre actually recomended them to me!

omg dude not cool, it means that if ur in an accident, and they check ur car out, they see that s**t, and go bingo, loop hole, ur insurance is void and they leave u in the dark.

Why have insurance then? It's useless then, you might aswell ancel it and at least get a refund on the money! No point in paying money for it when they won't cough up!

soemthing liek a mild cam it could be possible ot get away with, very slim chance they will open it up to see whats inside.

as far as i'm concerned most internal engine mods you can get away with! i've never seen or herd of an isurance assessor starting the engine when looking at body damage! and if it's a write off then theyre not gunna drive it are they?
also a lot of engine mods can count as just an engine 'rebuild' - "yeah i had my engine rebuild and wade had to regrind the cam"...

Actually to clarify they do know about exhaust, i just remembered because when i insured it it had a 2.5 inch system (which they know) but i changed it to a Lukeys 2.5 inch.

And plus, insurance renewal is coming up so ill talk to them about it then (about the extractors) :D

And yeah the insurance guy isnt gonna know i got a cam. Unless he is that mechanically wise if i have a huge crash and my engine is in a million pieces and he goes, "wait a minute, thats not a stock cam THATS ONE FROM ALTED!"
