hello, car had a top end splutter was real noticable with air con on and under heavy load, replaced the ignition coil and its all sweet but now say if im just cruising in either 3rd 4th or 5th gear and u give it to it the car really jerks, it cant be fuel or electical could it because when u wind out the gears the car really goes, only when ur cruising in the higher gears and put ur foot down its jerking, and sometimes when in first gear if i back off the throttle at slow speed and get the cam jerk the diff is making sort of a knocking sound as the car is jerking, any ideas anyone? - 2002 ba xr6 manual ute.... cheers

wind out gears = hit the high RPMS? or?
and how many ignition coils did you replace? one or all? have you checked your spark plugs as well? lotta people been havin similar problems lately... including my self i replaced spark plugs and then they were ok. and i know you've said it but it could be possible unless you've alread replaced it... fuel filter? but as for the diff making a knocking noise and the cam jittering... not too sure there buddy. sorry if these answers aren't much help but it's all i can think of mate..

by winding out the gears i mean like sitting at 2000rpm in second and giving it to it all the way till 5th, i only replaced one of the ignition coils i just got the new one and kept swapping it with the older ones until i sourced the problem, as for the plugs i replaced them with iridium plugs not too long ago. thanks mate

yes.....
From reading around the forums both here and others its one of those must do jobs when replacing plugs on a BA+ Where you bought the coils from should in theory also have the grease as well....
