hey guys, had a couple ppl look at my car, and most have said its running too ritch, puffs of black smoke when revving it, and it splurges and wants to stall when u first put ur foot on the accelerator, ive checked hoses on the map sensor, thats the only thing i have seen on the forum that might make it run too ritch?

Just wondering how i would go about fixing this to lean it out a bit?

here are a few things that can cause it to run rich..
an old/dirty air filter?
o2 sensor might be stuffed??
buggered fuel reg, this can cause fuel pressure to be higher than normal at idle

next would be the water temp sensor could be out of range telling the ecu its cold causing it to be in cold start mode??
also whats the running temp like? again if it runs to cool the ecu can put it in cold start..

i will check all those things out next weekend, pretty tied up for the week ahead.

Running temp is a little hard to tell at the moment, as i need to replace welsh plugs, currently doesnt have any water in it, im not driving it at the moment.

how many welsh plugs are there on the intake side?

There are 5 on the exhaust side, 1 at the rear, a 2 on the inlet side....all the same size.
There is NO need to remove the little ones on the inlet side, they lead to the oil drain gallerys.

werid i almost have same thing, s**t economy, black s**t on ground, small amounts of water, when i first start driving it i apply throttle and it almost dies and then surges the power right back up

but iv noticed it only does this because of the work its had done

while the bbm is off, is there certain things i should look at replacing?

new gasket is a must obviously, should i use an adhesive with the new one?

was thinking of putting my old bbm on as everything on the old one was working fine, could potentially eliminate some problems.. not sure?

also i noticed my TB cable has a bit of slack in it, im not sure how to go about tightening it up?
