I put a CFI dizzy into a EL Ghia, as part of some testing and stuffing around.

At startup, it took twice as long to get the thing to fire (I can only assume it was looking for its now missing short tooth), and when it did start it had a pretty crappy idle. It was running fairly rich, you could smell it. Whether it went into some sort of limp home mode, or it was because it was injecting 3 times as much fuel as each cylinder required, I am not sure. But I can say it idled a little rough, I imagine as it was running overly rich. But I cant say that it was missing.

And yes, if you swap the vane over, that is all that is required. However, they are pressed on, and you will have to hammer the centre shaft out well to get the vane off. Dont try to leaver it off, its easily bent (or so I have found), unless someone can offer a better idea.
