Hi all. My AU3 XR6 smells after full throttle. Kinda lyk burning plastic. Any ideas guys? Iv had a look around the engine bay n theres no obvious signs of anything melting/melted but i can smell it inside the car. Only after i put me foot down tho. I can put around normally for 2 hours n nothing. Any help would b appreciated.

^^ This is my suggestion as well, when they start to fail, they stink. get under there and give it a shake, it is rattles, time for a new one.

so i found the problem. Cat is 6 months old so its not that. Wen i put the extractors in i ripped the firewall heatshield the cloth crap. Since i took the exhaust heatshield off the foam is starting to singe. Can the cloth be repaired or is it bak on with the heatshield?

your extractors will generally run hotter than standard exhust because of being made of thinner metal i would try the heatshield and if that don't work maybe think about the thermal wrapping tape you normally see on turbo setups to keep the heat in the pipes rather than in the engine bay you may find that if you go the wrap that the engine bay will be cooler so a power increase from your intake not being so hot may happen just a thought
