i haven't put an inhibitor switch on a falcon for a while.
the inhibior switch test - there is a 4-pin plug.
2 pins are for the reverse light, the other 2 are for the start lock-out.
just check which one is reverse lights and which one is park/neutral.
loop a wire to the correct one and it should start (if this is the problem).

to test power at the starter solenoid terminal (small wire at starter) just use a test light.

also, pull the interior light FUSE out and see if it cranks.
if it does, the problem is in the smartlock.

another check, next to the battery there is a piece of plastic covering 4 RELAYS.
pull the cover off, and the most rearward relay is the start relay.
if the relays in front of it are the same (i can't remember if they are), just swap it around and see if it works.

hope that helps.

the interior light is already out cause i snapped the switch in the on position so but cheers for that at least i got a bit of a check list now can anyone else add?

you want the FUSE out, not the globe.

Just replaced the Body Control Module in my EF. Had the same problem. Once you put the new one in you have to recode the key. You may still have to do this with your orig BCM if you've unplugged it. That may explain it not starting now.

wind your drivers side window down, put the key in and in the on position and press the demister button 3 times. the locks will lock and unlock. leave for 30 mins the doors will lock and unlock again and the key is coded.

If its the same prob I had with the BCM you can short the ignition relay under bonnet to start the car. must still have keys in and on and will start in any gear.

turn key to the on position (all lights on your dash come on), put the car in park with your handbrake on and remove the solenoid key wire off the starter.
bridge the key terminal on the starter with the battery positive terminal on the starter with some wire.
note - it will crank over, and will probably run.
once it runs, remove the jumper wire.
if all is good, it should run, if not, it's probably a problem associated with smartlock.
