water in the dizzy maybe, or in the electrical connections. and your foot on the pedal and off again, it may be the bcm playing up. when u get the starting part sorted, try banging the panel to the left hand lower of the steering wheel. sometimes the bcm has some dry joints or dodgey components in them and a thump there will make the bcm work for a while.

the distributor cap, under the intake manifold where the spark plug leads go to (opposite end to the spark plugs)

maybe just leave it on and hope it starts tomorrow, if not ...ring a friend

after you dry your dizzy and leads ,
check your COIL
the short lead from the dizzy (the only one that dosent go to a spark plug).
dont ever put water in your engine bay without covering your coil and dizzy with a plastic bag !!

put the battery on charge for a day. one car i did i had to crank it for 3mins non stop and it finally kicked into life. also have a jump start battery hooked up at the same time to ease the load on your original battery. once it fired, was coughing/spluttering a bit but (still had water somewhere) i let it idle till it got warm and went for an easy drive , cleared up after a few minutes running... worth a try before u go spending more $$ on it.
