Hey, what do I know?

I'm still going to give Carbon Clean a shot, and replace my injectors ...that are likely to be worn AND clogged!

So water does the trick eh? Does it really dissolve the carbon deposits?

...I still have much to learn.

i wouldnt be sending drops of water into my intake..

go for the carbon clean mark and let us know how it goes!

no if you were to put water in your engine it'd have to be a fine mist spray.

They connected mine to where the fuel filter was i think; down the back around there anyway.. It would clean the lines as it passes thru surely.

Either way im not gonna argue as the results spoke for themselves in my case.

water wont clean the back of the intake valves, as at that point it's still water. not steam. carbon build up there is the biggest cause of economy loss

and it aint special feul it's petrol from the feul tank of the car being cleaned.
has a bottle of cleaner added to it. (not in the tank)
when on a falcon it's not bolted to the rail at all. it's hooked up the the feul lines AT THE TANK.

it'd be good if people had half a clue what they were talking about befor posting

yeah i know, its supposed to clean the FULL fuel rail/system, not just the rail/injectors.

OK, now that I've had the Carbon Clean done to my car ...I know a little more about it as follows:

The machine is actually tapped into your fuel line just before the rail (my car was hoisted to access fuel line under the engine bay).

The cleaning fluid is actually a non-flammable detergent.

First of all, the machine is started up with the engine OFF. The detergent-only mix removes gum, varnish, and other build-ups from the fuel rail, injector screens, and pressure regulator.

Then car is started & left to idle with the machine on for about 45 mins. Now the detergent is mixed with the car's fuel, and it now passes thru' the injectors into the combustion chamber.

Because the detergent is non-flammable, it doesn't ignite in the chamber, but instead it forms a mist-like coating on the valves, ports & pistons, even as far down as the oxygen sensor.

What the detergent actually does is attack any gum, carbon deposits & varnish in the system by softening it up & reducing it's ability to adhere to the internal surfaces.

The engine is turned off, the machine is then stopped & disconnected from the fuel lines, and the car's lines are reconnected.

The next part is the most important, because the detergent has now had time to do it's job on the carbon deposits & gunk, so when the car is restarted with fuel only, the combined detergent & carbon particles are literally blasted out of the exhaust ...with a few hard revs of course!

The final part is now down to the driver ...'cos they then have to take the car & cane it a few times to blow the rest of the s**t out!

I could initially see quite an amount of black 'soot' coming out of my exhaust as it was revved hard after the clean ...so something must have worked!

Apparently it takes about a week of driving to totally clear any deposits from the fuel system, and the ECU may also have to readjust during this period.

There you have it, a bit too early yet to tell how it's worked for me, ...but at least I have more of a handle on what a Carbon Clean is, and how it works!

how they did it to his and how i do it are not the same.

by the way the s**t on the valve is from incomming crap that hit the cak of a hot valve and bakes on. like oil from rocker breathers and PCV not from stuff comming back out of the chamber.

some engine are that bad when you take the head off, i've seen over 5mm of crap built up on some valves.

scale not unlike burnt egg white in a frying pan ( best i could think of as to what it looks like) on top of pistons.

yeah i agree the water does work to a deree. but not half as well as a carbon clean done properly.

call me a prick if you like i don't realy care. just know the facts befor posting. instead of syainf save your $150 and spray sme water down there. cos it doesn't do the same job.
