Frank,
Try doing what twr7cx suggests and take the full measurement into any parts store and see what vehicles their catalogues list a 6pk2560 belt for. You may find a 6pk2555, a 6pk2570 or 6pk2565 etc in their application list that will do and is not too dear. This is what I did when I put the EF alternator on my EB2, in my case it was a 3pk940 needed instead of an 3pk860 IIRC. Bursons had them on the shelf for about the same price as the std one. Check the length and prices of the next 2 sizes up and down so you don't order a rare one. Cheers, Paul

The V8 belt is longer... I think! It's kind of hard to be sure looking at the diagram in my spec guide. I was hoping it listed the lengths.

It can be an inch or so longer as I can take that up with the tensioner. Thanks again Mr Froudey. how many ribs and width i will find it and like give you the part number so you can go to ya local isuzu or freight liner dealer and get one from spares

sweet, it is a 6 rib and its exactly 2cm wide.
I'm gonna do what twr7cx and paul have said as well.. somewhere will be one that is common in some vehicle or other. Interesting question though.. did the supercharged dunnydores have a seperate belt for the charger or did they just have a longer belt? |

Actually this is very interesting.. might not even have to leave the ford parts bin..
http://cgi.ebay.pl/FORD-TAURUS-3-8L-89- ... 0219226260 seems to indicate that the belt I need can come straight off a Ford Taurus.. (though I cringe to put anything from a Taurus on my car I could go to repco/supercheap/coventries and get a price on a fan belt for a 94 taurus and see what they have.. |

Now your on the money Frank, try to get a belt that just fits so you don't have too much slack. Keep the receipt handy in case you want to change it. LOL
According to your measurements this could be the one though and cheap enough to get a spare. Cheers, Mac

Thanks Paul..
Even if it's an inch too long, it isn't a big deal because I'll just swap sides with the ED tensioner and instead of putting it above the alternator, I'll put it in the belt above the charger pushing down so as to increase the contact area between the belt and the pulley. (less chance of slipage) I'll make it work one way or the other, it just needs to be close. |

Good on you Frank, it's a great piece of work and the only major mod. I'd want to do to our cars.
If I ever do, you can be sure I'll be copying a lot of what you've done. LOL Great work mate. Cheers, Mac
