Hello just interested to find out what damage and how much money worth of damage has to be done for a eb2-ed fairmont to be a repairable write off because in not 100% sure on that and if ones a reparible write off, does that mean you can buy it back from the insurance company if they keep it and use the insurance money and pay for it your self to get it fixed and get it inspected and engineered before reregistration.

Also what damage has to be done and how much money worth of damage has to be done to make a eb2-ed fairmont a stat write off.

Can you please make a list of what damage has to be done to make it a repairable write off and a sepreate list of what damage has to be done to make it a stat write off.

do you think laws will change or not. if so im starting a petition to stop it changing and make it the way it was 20 years ago.

was there reparible and stat writeoff catogaries 20 years ago and how long has there been those 2 writeoff catogaries.

If its a repairable writeoff you can buy it back and fix it. They inspect it pretty hard though before it can be rego'd again. If its a stat writeoff it will be unsafe to repair (chassis cracks/bends etc) Call an insurance company though. when a vehicle is written off it has something to do with the market value, repair cost vs how much they can wreck the car for. If they can get most of the value back from wrecking it they'll write it off. My 05 courier had $17k worth of damage when 1 year old and they repaired it. Dont judge me on the above, its what the panelbeater told me.

13000, I really hope you aren't gonna pull a swifty on a insurance company because it makes it harder for legitimate claims to get processed and approved not to mention driving up the cost of premiums each year.

yes you can buy and fix a repairable write off. the insurance company write it of because they dont see the value in repairing it. your vehicle will b placed on a written of vehicle register in which case you will have to pay an engineer to say that it has been repaired to standards.

so really now...why all the questions???
