easyest mid if ever done....unbolt the cat 3 bolts from memory...under the U bolt at the back before the diff loop of if it dosnt have one cut it with a grinder....pull the std exhaust apart take off the 4 rubber mounts..pull it out....and putting the new one in is the same as pulling the old one out..just grab your self a gasket for the cat and exhaust pipe and some ultra blue...shouldnt take much longer then 1 hour :) and just FLY i have the 2.5" lukey exhaust on ebay and it has a very nice note

Thanks heaps mate! I thought it shouldn't be to hard, just a matter of replacing the old one :D
I was thinking to get the exact same one! I saw it on eBay the other day, how does it go, performne and sound wise? I'm currently on my P's so unfortunately I can't drive a v8 or turbo so Im hoping it give a nice deep note? Not like them other p players that but a can on a little hatch back and make it sound like a dying cow haha
Also how did you manage to er access to under the car? Jacks?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just new to this and I want to make sure I have a rough idea of what to do:)

it was a deepish smooth note, kinda like the DOHC motors...i really liked it...didnt really notice a performance increase though..maybe a tiny bit in the top end...you wont really feel any difference unless you match the exhaust with some extractors and a hi flo cat....
jacked the car up one side at a time and put it on stands..i cant remember if i needed to jack the front up or not though...then again i am a heavy set person so chances are i would have needed the extra room haha

I lifted the back of mine and undid the cat join from the side.

I'm sure you already know this, but safety first. Don't get under a car that is only supported by a scissorjack.

No worries. I backed it onto ramps, chocked all the wheels with wood, and put blocks underneath the body near the back door.

Stout wood blocks are OK, concrete blocks are russian roulette. If you plan on working under your car in future, do it right and invest in a pair of stands. They don't cost much from Supercrap or Ripco and will do the job forever. Mine cost me about $50 ten years ago and will probably still be fine in another twenty years. Cheapest insurance going.

Enjoy your modding!

Yeah, I used thick sections of log since we had a lot of them laying around. Proper stands is always the better alternative. I just put these under just to be sure, they weren't holding the car up but if the stands broke or something, they would.

hi guys i am nearly on my P's and was thinking the same thing about the cat back. this might sound stupid but the standard cat and system are 2 1/4 so how does a 2 1/2 system fit on.
