OK guys, ill be fitting the wade cam from the fairlane into the EL sometime in the next couple of days. What I need to know is, whats the proper way to remove and re-fit the chain tensioner? Are there any tools that I need besides a socket? Im cool with the rest of the fitting procedure, just the chain tensioner im not so sure about.
Thanks in advance...

Socket, punch and hammer will be needed.

I'll leave it up to someone who has a good understanding of this little bugger to give you a good step by step guide :)

with 2 people you can change the cam with out having to touch the chain tensioner.

all you have to do is, take the rocker cover off, take the rocker gear off,
undo the bolt that holds the cam gear on while you pully the cam gear out and up to hold the chain tension your friend kindly replaces the cam then you just slip the gear back on. no need to touch the tensioner.

unless you are replacing the gear aswell

Someone recommended using a brick and a broom stick. :D

I personally prefer to cable tie the chain to the gear and drop the tensioner.

that i don't know,,i put the socket on the head started undoing it and thought s**t this thing looks bigger in real life than in the book.

then i wondered why i couldn't see the little filter and why the plunger thingo came out,,it did make it easier to take the cam off..

just one of those things i spose
