Hi as i said i brought a EF Fairmont Wagon wiith 290ks on it on gas. Was slugish on petrol and gas wouldnt even come close to lighting the tyres, changed leads, plugs, coil pack no differance. (Did stop it back firing on gas but ) Put a new o2 sensor in an damn talk about get up and boggie now she lights the tyres up no worrys at all even on gas. Will be interesting to see if my fuel usage drops to.

the 02 sensor was probably dead.
did you measure the readings with a multimeter before you replaced it? Last edited by FordFairmont on Fri Feb 29, 2008 5:13 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

yeah well considering they are meant to be changed every 100 thousand ks and the wagons go nearly 300 i would say it would have been stuffed

As long as it's doing it's job there's no real need to replace it. Just check the voltage across it compared to the mentioned values in Gregories.
Yours must have been rooted. |

(was 120.1kw, now 127.6)

Being a auto electrician & a efi specialist you should change the o2 sensor every 100,000 kms & service your injectors 80,000 to 100,000 kms.
NICE WORK MATE.
