First off all, you MUST release the gas from the compressor and the system.

To release gas from compressor, on the manifold, where the suction and discharge hoses are, there is also a valve(exactly the same as a tyre valve)...release the gas, by either undoing it, or pushing in(like a trye).

Then theres another valve that runs parralell with the air intake( i think) do the same, release the gas).

Then its only a matter of taking the discharge and suction hoses off, taking bolts off the bracket and removing compressor, and belt and bob's your uncle(well at least he's my uncle).

Also, don't taste the gas(although will be in liquid form called roc oil)...i tasted it for a dare, was sick for days....although im sure you not as stupid as me lol.

If you havnt bought the compressor yet, let us know, i reco them.

Well if its refridgerant, wear gloves cause it could give you frostbite.

guys while we are talking about ac does anyone have an idea as to why my ac on my car stops putting out cool air intermittently. i have to floor the car then it kicks back in and works again for a while and does the same thing. i took the battery terminals off yesterday and cleaned them so far so good but am i on the right track?

My guess would be a slipping clutch on the compressor.

less likely would be an internal gasket, but im more inclined to say your clutch is slipping.

Nah, if it is the clutch, you can just get that replaced with a new coil.(Clutch is the coil, pulley and front shoe).

Goto a air joint, and just ask them to double check if thats the problem, make them think you will goto them to get it fixed, and get a price.

Get back to me, and ill see if i can do it cheaper for ya.

before i do that i have a feeling its the wac relay. ill replace that first and see because apparently the wac relay supplies power to rhe compressor. and if i bang the steering wheel when the ac is off the compressor kicks in again. weird i know. thanks hellbent.

yeah sound weird so im guessing its the wac relay which is just under the surge tank. my car did the same thing as yours a while back by kicking the brake pedal and it eneded up being a dry joint in the smart lock module. i know exactly what you mean.

depends on what sort of loud your talking about, as i told 93EB, it might only be your clutch, which if the right person is doing it, it can be a quick and a lot cheaper fix.

But if the noise is coming from inside your comp, its only going to get worse, and possibly even seize.

I beleive we sell them for $300 as im pretty sure that they are the same as ef\el's.

Give us a call on 0422 855 862 2mora during 8:30am and 4:30pm and i can ask the boss straight away.
