Hey im am currently waiting on my Extractors and Exhaust to come through via a courier and i figure i would study up on how to fit them myself as i was told the setup was already flanged so all i have to do is some bolting.
For the extractors do i need a gasket or gasket sealer or anything like that? Or can it all just be bolted up in correct sequence and it will be fine? For the Exhaust i will probally need to do this first correct? Also how do you pull the old one out and replace it? Its it like some rings under the car holding the pipe and mufflers in place? It is a 2.5" Mandrel with 2 Hot Dogs. (Thats what i was told) Any advice is greatly appreciated !

How handy are you with tools?
does the extractors you getting have the cat with them? I would just go to ya local exhaust place with the items and ask to fit... drop off in the morn and pickup at lunch time...

Unless they come with a new cat already flanged then you will need to do some welding.
Plus the likelyhood that it all lines up without putting stress on it is unlikely.

You can bolt up the catback yourself, you'll need to get the extractors fitted as they cat pipe needs to be cut n shut. Honestly unless you've done it before its so much easier to get it done by a shop.

Even if you have done it before, such a pain in the a*** to get the angle of the flanges right

Well when i told the guy i would take them he told me at the time he was unbolting everything which meant that the exhaust and extractors were just bolt on without requiring welding ! Correct?
If i did decide to get them installed how much would i be looking at?

Incorrect.
In case you didnt understand previously: Cat back exhaust will bolt up fine, this is something you can do yourself. Extractors will bolt to the motor fine. They will NOT bolt up to the stock cat piping. You need to have this CUT and WELDED. To install, you're looking at $100+ |

however if its a used system of the same series car, your chances are alot better, that you can also just unbolt all your gear and bolt on the new used stuff. But yeah if its complete new gear, exhaust shop is my advice.

peaandham wrote: yea its a used kit from the same model car ! well then you have answered your own question. Extractors / Cat Convert / Exhaust.... simple unbolt headers, unbolt rear flange on cat, unbolt middle section of exhaust, and remove the rear exhaust section and to install to it in reverse

Hmm you guy told me when he took it off he had to cut a piece of and it would cost about $20 to have someone to weld it back on, so then i called an Exhaust shop they said the exhaust would cost $100 to install and the extractors would cost $150 so $250 all up seems a bit expensive ! Should it be much cheaper than this ?
