I suspect my fuel filter is blocked, so where abouts in the back is it located on a 95 XR6?
Also how would i go about changing it. Any tips? (good idea for another doco) Also is the Ryco Z373 good enough? Cheers

The Ryco brand is good enough to use.The filter is located under the passenger rear seat area under the car.I would suggest in buying some pipe spanners to make removal of th old filter easier. But if not try not t round the nut heads.I think the siZes are 19mm on the filter and 14 or 15mm on the other ends.If you end up not loosening the nuts and round the heads, you can simply use a pipe cutter and cut the old filter out and exchange your new filter Z373 with a Z200 and a bit of fuel injection hose and 4 hose clamps and will do the job.

as mentioned under passenger rear side of car. sizes are 19mm open end spanner and 14mm pipe spanner. fuel will come out to begin with but it will stop in a short time if it dont stop. undo the fuel cap and it will stop.
if you do end up rounding the nuts off what KRUPTD is exactly right works perfect. even though Z200 is mainly a commodore filter haha Last edited by nick81xd on Mon Aug 14, 2006 9:37 pm, edited 1 time in total. |

the difference is the 373 has threaded fittings and the 200 has simple pipe fittings

yeh if u get like 10cms of fuel injection hose and 4 hose clamps and cut the pipe to suit. done it plenty of times as its a common thing for them to round off.

nah just jack up the left hand rear corner will be enough. use a jack stand of course. also there is pressure in the line so when u crack it u may not want to have ur eyes or mouth in the way cause it doesnt taste or look good haha

Just jack up the rear of the car chock the front wheels and use some jack stands and then you may start. Also remove the fuel cap to help release the pressure in the tank.

just need a raise on the passenger side, it's under the car near the passenger side rear wheel, a bit infront of it. |
