Hey,

I am in the process of selling my car: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=200245#200245 so i don't want to go spending big dollars on it however i am getting bored and want to do something to it.

What is the cheapest performance mod for the I6?

What is the best mod that you have done in a BFYB sense?

Well anything you do will cost money, and be specific to the ford, but for removable sellable parts, get a bigger intake snorkle and high flow panel filter.

Yeah i have often though about a bigger intake but do they offer much in the way of noticible gain?

The noticeable gains you will get are better economy and slightly more power depending on how use to the car you are. I noticed a difference on mine when but I had been driving it for about a year before I did that. Snorkel and K&N panel filter will set you back about $120 maybe less.

The other easy thing to do but will cost a bit more is an exhaust system so the whole engine can breathe better.
Extractors and cat back system will be about $900 (getting Pacemakers of course).

Both those simple mods are the easiest and first thing most people do with an EF Falcon.

Not much, but better throttle response, and feels a little more lively in the rev range,

Anything else costs $$$, like cam, extractors, and exhaust so hardly worth it on a car you want to sell.

performance and cheap don't go together.
Personalyl I wouldn't bother modding if your gunna sell it.
As for most of the low priced mods, you won't notice s**t - e.g. bigger intake, better spark plug, hi flow filter, you won't notice much improvement.
if your wanting improvement that you'll notice, put aside $500 and get some extractors or change the cam or something.

Couple of bottles of injector treatment should do the trick and only cost ya 15 bucks tops.
And you can tell the tyre kickers that it's just had the injectors cleaned!!! :P

If you have a grand to spend this will give your falcon 6 a bit of punch!!!!

1) K&N panel Filter
2) AU XR8 intake snorkel
3) 2.5in Redback Sports Exhaust
4) Pacemaker 4499 Extractors (good through the entire rev range, heard some bad reports about the race series 4480's which are losing bottom end torque. something about not enough back pressure.)
5) Good set of ignition leads and some new NGK plugs wouldn't go a stray either.

Cheers Luke.

I was gonna suggest the same, shift kit and a bottle of octane booster. Cost you under $30.
