hey all my trans cooler went and since ive fixed it all i have the ugly overflow bottle which is so filthy on the inside you can barly see the coolant, any tips on getting the oil stains out? the system flushed well but the oil seems to stick the the plastic and stain it as such. might try some CT14 or acetone?! anyone else had a good soulution?

I tried cleaning mine with all sorts of cleaning chemicals, from detergent(truck wash), niffty, metho, turps to thinners, and petrol. Nothing really cleaned it. Yeah you can get it a bit better but I'd be going for a new one especially when its only $62 delivered

if you are replacing your coolant bottle with a brand new one make sure your engine coolant galleries hoses, heater, heater pipes, waterpump are all super clean.
otherwise it will look like your old one in no time.

here's some ideas from another thread on the same thing
