Anyone know the best and easiest way to clean that white dusty crap off the rubber air intake tubes.....especaily the one that connects to the throttle body. The inside of it has heaps of dusty white powder...

I tried washing it in the sink, and it does jack sheeet...dont want to perish the rubber.

I dunno what it is...it kind of looks like its covered in a fine white dust...kinda like its been left out in the sun. It hasnt though - its still in fairly good nick and isnt cracked. It just doesnt seem to wash off though....Ive seen it on a few falcons.

No I've seen it a lot too. Tyre Shine or Baby oil helps I think.

Nah. its not LPG. Ill try some tyre shine actually. Good idea.

Thing is, its on the inside too. I dont know if it a "dirty air flow thing" or just a rubber deterioration thing....

As said above, this is common and theres not alot you can do.
Either replace or find something to change the appearence; doubt it will do anything as its common and never heard anything yet.

Cant do much with the white fading on the intake pipes.
Paint it or replace it. Its just the plastic getting old.

The only thing I'd use to attempt to clean something electrical like that is Electrical Contact Board Cleaner or something along those lines - most auto stores sell spray cans of it - I use it to clean my NGK Iridium spark plugs.

Don't use WD40, it'll leave a residue on the sensor. Try carby cleaner.

Just carby cleaned the oxy sensor ...and cleaned throttle body and all pipes. Now gonna go reset the ECU (the PROPER way thanks GT Bob).

Hopefully this will help my ferakin rough idle problem. Gotta love the I6. Oh yeah.
