hi.

is it ok to put clear repeaters from a au onto a ed ford or is it illegal.

if i put them on backwards, do i have to have the hole cut or will the au repeaters go straight on without cutting the hole in the panel bigger or a diffrent shape

Not illegal in NSW and is a very common mod, can't comment on SA rules, but wouldn't think so.
Don't install them on backwards...look crap imho. There is a tech doco on here somewhere that tells you to cut them, but that is un-necessary as I found out the hard way. Just heat the clip at the base and bend it back slightly and they'll just clip straight in.

actually they are illegal in nsw on some cars. Cars made in certain years aren't allowed to have them. The laws have changed several times hence only certain years are allowed. My mate found this out the hard way and was defected for them.

Check the RTA website for more info

i'll try to find out but it may take a while as i can't remember which design standard the ed was under.

Bottom line though you'd have to get a real prick of a cop to pull you up my mate only got done as he was a red p plater driving a turbo skyline which was extremely loud and way too low. Was originally pulled over for doing burnouts in the main street

My ED has clear repeaters on it and I've never been hassled by the police nor have I ever had my car knocked back on a roadworthy because of clear repeaters. That's here in Vic so I can't comment about other states.

yes and it may not surprise you to know he also has a commodore (VN). We give him s**t all the time about both the car and his reckless driving but he never listens to reason. he's had his car confiscated twice

Just do it mate! It's a huge improvement and the chances of getting pulled over because of them are next to none

afaik they are leagal as long as they flash orange..

so either get series 1 au clear ghia ones which have the orange inside which means you can use std globes..
or get the series3 clear ones but you need to get the orange globes...
