When I turn hard or brake, I get a clunking every now and then in the drivers side front wheel arch. My guess is a loose strut.

Any suggestions?

Yep get the front end checked?? It could be as simple as sway bar bush...

I Had a clunk in my EA when i went in/out driveways... Turned out to be a rotted away bump stop..

you'll probably find that your radius rod bushes are stuffed. no big deal getting them changed, about $120 or you could do it yourself for about $40-50 then you really should get a wheel alignment.
