I'd like to ask a different question, when can we expect specs on this? a set date? a fortnight? etc?

when details are available they will be posted. Other than that we have to respect the workload the crew at crescent are under and hold on tight for the release of more info. There are 145 posts in here from crescent saying they will post when the info is available.

multiplie mentions of "it's already stroked" come to mind..

this isn't a stroker, its a big bore conversion.

but if you'd read the first page you'd have known that already

soemthing that crossed my mind just now, is that if you use one of these blocks and put a 3.2L crank in it you'll end up with one rev happy 3.9L engine with a bore/stroke of 1.27 and a stroke/rod of 2.003.

just think about that for a while. that almost 4L of 8000RPM madness

apart from being rare the 3.2 crank only has a 79.4 mm stroke so the cubic capacity will allways be lower when compared to the 4.0 @ 99.29 mm with the same bore, no mater what length of the rods are. :)

lol, i just realised what you ment (wasnt thinking outside the square, lol) 3.2 crank with the larger bore @ 4ltr is alot of power. :S

edit: but, i think it still works out smaller @ 3.8ltr because of the shorter stroke :P

yeah it's like 3.87. but you'd probably have to use custom rods so you could get big a little smaller then stock and have the crank offset ground a bit to make up for it

or give a 221 crank a shot. Doesnt look that hard to fit one in a 4.0 block.

you fukin kidding me?....... why belittle another sponsor on here, they do great work and their cams run some of the toughest cars in the country.

While no doubt CMS also do great work, i wish i was there for the dyno day to give his sixes some healthy competition :)

Dont know if anyone has mentioned using a 300 canadian 6 crank.
I knew of a guy back approx 20 years ago who built a TE cortina 4.1 crossflow and had fitted one of these cranks into it.

I had never been in it but one of my friends said he had and apparently this thing turned the tyre in all 4 gears.
