boys !!!! shes comming in for a dyno runn in another week !!!! have a reply back from the guys that made the head gasket & they f**k up good news for me at least theres no dramas with the stroker combo ........

I can go as bigg as running L34 valves in these heads if needed which is what I advertise in the stage 5 heads...... with comp this one is running just under 10:5:1 again only running my stage 2 head & cam combo

as far as the heads go IMO the stage 4 head will be more than enough when I flowed the 4 compaird to the 5 we made bugger all difference @ .550 lift but the stage 5, I definatly recomend as for forced induction only......

thanks

Joe
WHOA! great news joe! any particluar day set? should be able to pull a decent crowd at cms on the day of dyno'ing... should fire up the bbq too... :idea:

yeah sure ill fly to sydney for that................

Road trip anyone?

phong =P~

Count me In.. Ill drive even lol. as long as its held on a saturday hehe

Does anyone roughly know what the ci capacity of the 4.8 setup would be without the extra stroke? I wouldnt know how to work it out. Im interested on how it would rev without the extra stroke on it, and making the bore wider than the stroke.

as far as i know joes 4.8 isnt stroked, so using a standard 4.0 crank with a stroke of 99.29mm and a given total cylinder displacement of 4782 the bore would have to be 101.10mm. lol :D

i think the stock pistons are around 92mm?

edit: a 60 thou overbore (.060) is 1.52mm so i doubt you could take 4.5mm out of the wall.

From memory,

Volume = 3.1415 x Bore squared x Stroke / 4

Or should the cylinder height (distance from the top of the piston to the underside of the cylinder head) be used rather than the stroke?

Plus it's not so easy as this as it's not a uniform cylinder, there are valve cutouts in the pistons, and the underside of the head is complex.

However, if you know the capacity of a given combination(s), you can use this formula to work out differences without having to know the complex bits. For example, if you take a 6cyl engine of known capacity and increase the stroke by 10mm, and the bore is 90mm, the increase in capacity is,

Increase in capacity
= 6 x 3.1415 x 90x90 x 10 / 4
= 382cc

Please check for errors.

valve reliefs and chamber volume have no effect on the cubic capaicty of an engine. the swept volume of engine is bore area x stroke. simple as that.

Someone once told me a way to get more bore is to offset them. I don't know if this means they are angled or not.

ok guys wanted to test dyno the motor before a public launch & making sure there was no problems, so we got the car in & gave it a run.....only got to do one run done when the auto s**t itself a load screaching noise came from the box.....So at just over half throtle we made 117rwkw & 355nm of torque running my stage2 head & cam & the factory ECU, with a totally stock exhaust system & stock intake not even a K&N filter, the autos getting sorted out & a set of paccies 2 1/2 cat & mandrel bent exhaust & CAI as well....

So once we get her to breath better..... as my mate Brett's NOS switch says ''GO BABY GO'' ......... :twisted:

Idea: "guess the dyno output competition" on its first full run. Kinda like the guess how many jelly beans in the jar raffles from when you where at primary school.

winner wins cred/or stuff :)

with exhaust and full run Im gunna go with
202 rwkw/530rwnm

Also this is an i6 engine yeah? TECHNICALLY under new P Plate laws, we could run one of these in our Falcons and still be legal. But then Power to Weight ratio would be over yeah?

How much does the Average EL Falcon weigh? Gotta be under 125kw per tonne of power to be legal.
