Hey guys, my EL Fairmont Ghia is in the workshop at the moment getting the final touches done, ready for its RWC and to be on the road.

Anyways, my mechanic tells me he has a full v8 conversion for an EL sitting in his workshop, but being a P plater I might go down the road of head/cam package instead for the 6, as its a lot easier to hide.

The car is going to be my comfy luxury weekend cruiser, I don't really want lumpy idle, loud exhaust etc.

I'm looking at CMS Stage 2 head and cam package and a new cat, exhaust and extractors, or is there something else or some sort of package I can go for? Does anyone have any dyno graphs showing when their torque/power kicks in compared to a completely stock car?

What can I expect out of this, how will the car drive? Its on the factory 15" wheels, and behind a 4sp auto.

Thanks much guys.

Joe's (CMS) stage 2 set up is a proven package. Get the 2a cam as it is ground to suit the Auto. Power will kick in a t around 2200rpm and you will enjoy, with the stage 2 head, extractors and 2.5" cat back and intake mods you would be looking at 145RwKw upwards depending on you engine age and condition of your auto.

What extractors are the ones to go for? Pacemaker has a few types and so does JMM?

I don't really care about top end that much as my car is going to sit between 2-3000 RPM most of the time.

Pacemaker are good value. Stay away from JMM. Check the for sale threads or EBay. I do know of 2 sets of extractors for sale but they are in Sydney, could get a good price for you as well.
