Makes sense, stops them from being replicated, makes blind tuning hard, like to get it to a dyno

Its not that bad, you can get a lot of cams to run on the stock ECU, albeit poorly but definitely drivable.
If you're tuning with TI Performance gear then there is a few tunes on there for cams, one for a track car fitted with a 1673 that you could load up for the more aggressive cams just to get you to the dyno.

theres a few cam grinders out there with good cams, some of them work & some just wasnt set up properly, what may look good with cam/dyno program may not work in real life ?? to many variables that a program can't replicate

Which ever cam you decide on it has to suit your set up !! std head or modified head ?? std springs or upgrades springs ?? & so on......

oK cool 8-) , im thinking about head work, upgrading springs to those double ones and hi stall, if i get somthing happening like that ill send use a msg because i want some more guts, although i was also thinking of turbo....does it matter about cams when you BOOST? There is so many options....

cams def matter when you are running a turbo.
thats why joe has suggested to choose a cam that suits your setup, its very important.
if you fit a cam that is to suit a setup you dont yet have, it may make less power in some areas now, but will be great once you do the headwork and fit the turbo...

There are different grind for Turbo and N/A as well.

It also comes down to the installation as well ... and how you dial the cam in as well ... for where you want the power/torque to really come in too.

A good way to gauge how well they perform ... get similar specced vehicles and see how they actually perform down the 1/4 ... that will give a good idea (that's if they are all setup will by the installer/tuner as well).

So, like a turbo needs the cams power to kick in at different rev rang does it? say early on so it boost's up faster or am i way off here?

There's differences in lift and duration on intake and exhaust ... has different characteristics between the 2.

Someone in the know will better explain it though.
